Explore Research for Upper Limb Essential Tremor

Living with upper limb essential tremor (ET) can be frustrating, especially when symptoms make everyday tasks like eating, writing, or getting dressed more difficult. The STEADY1 Clinical Trial is enrolling adults to evaluate an investigational study drug and learn more about managing upper limb ET symptoms.

You may be able to participate in the STEADY1 Clinical Trial if you:

Are between 18 and 85 years old

Have experienced essential tremor symptoms in the hands and forearms for at least 3 years

All clinical trial–related medical care, visits, and study drugs will be provided at no cost.

If you are interested in participating, the trial doctor or staff will review additional trial criteria with you.
Participants may be reimbursed for travel and expenses.

About the
STEADY1 Clinical Trial

The STEADY1 Clinical Trial is a clinical trial for adults with upper limb ET. The trial is evaluating an investigational study drug to see whether it may help reduce tremor in the hands and forearms, potentially making it easier to manage day-to-day activities.

The trial involves up to 26 trial visits over the course of about 76 weeks. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the study drug or a placebo (a substance that looks like the study drug but contains no ingredients), both given as intramuscular (in the muscle) injections.

Participants who complete the trial through Week 24 may be eligible to enter an open-label extension (OLE) lasting up to about 1 year. There is no placebo during the OLE, and all participants will receive the active study drug.

By taking part, those living with upper limb ET may help researchers learn more about the condition and contribute to finding potential treatment options in the future.
